Spring Engagement Photoshoot in the Tulip Fields of Skagit Valley
Taking Ashley and Payton’s engagement photoshoot at Roozengaarde during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival was such a blast! The gardens were bursting with color, the tulips were in full bloom, and golden hour gave us that dreamy glow photographers live for. We laughed, danced, and wandered through rows of tulips, soaking in one of Washington’s most iconic springtime views.
Like most couples, Ashley and Payton felt a little nervous at first, but being a little nervous is totally normal! I promoise, you don’t need to be a professional model to get great photos. My job is to help you feel at ease, and that’s exactly why I include engagement sessions with all of my wedding photography packages. We get to hang out, have fun, and take the pressure off. No timelines, no expectations…just you two, being yourselves.
During our session, we found the prettiest pockets of light and color, and by the end, Ashley and Payton were totally in the groove. One of the best parts of an engagement session in the tulip fields is how much variety the gardens and fields provide; from wide, colorful shots to sweet, up-close moments between blooms. It was the perfect place for a fun and colorful engagement photoshoot.
If you’re thinking about planning a spring engagement session in Skagit Valley, here’s a quick tip: try to visit midweek if you can! The tulip fields are popular (for good reason), and weekdays are usually quieter, giving us more space to explore without the crowds.
I can’t wait to photograph Ashley and Payton’s wedding later this summer—if it’s anything like their engagement session, it’s going to be absolutely beautiful.
