Whidbey Island Engagement Photoshoot | Ebey’s Landing, Langley, Mukilteo Ferry
A ferry ride with a personal touch
We started in Mukilteo, Washington, and caught the ferry over to Clinton. The line was long (classic PNW ferry life), but once we were on the boat, everything felt relaxed and calm. While we crossed the water, Cami and Jose played a card game using a well-loved deck passed down from Cami’s grandmother. They’re big fans of game nights, and it was such a sweet, personal moment to witness. Incorporating something they genuinely love doing together made the session feel so true to who they are.

Exploring Langley: first date nostalgia
Once we landed in Clinton, we made a short drive over to Langley, one of the island’s most charming little towns. We wandered through the historic downtown, stopping along the way for photos in front of colorful storefronts and quiet corners that felt like they belonged in a storybook.
We eventually made our way down to the marina where they had their very first date! Full-circle moments like that are my favorite. There’s something extra special about photographing couples in places that hold memories, and you could feel how meaningful it was for them to be back there.

An unexpected detour & golden-hour magic
On our way to our final destination, Ebey’s Landing, my car broke down (life sure does have a way of happening like that, huh?), but Cami and Jose were so kind and understanding. Total gems! They didn’t miss a beat, and the hiccup didn’t stop us from chasing that dreamy Puget Sound sunset together. My sweet husband drove over an hour to meet up with us at Ebey’s Landing and get my car situated. After a simple fix at the mechanic shop a few days later, my car is as good as new. At Ebey’s, we danced, ran around, and soaked in every last bit of sunshine. It felt carefree and joyful—exactly what an engagement session should be.
